Champagne powder and varied terrain attract every kind of skier to this north Okanagan resort. A car-free Victorian village, family-friendly fun and award-winning Nordic facilities are all part of Silver Star’s charm.

With three distinct mountain faces, Silver Star has everything from groomed downhill trails to some of the best tree skiing in Canada.

One hundred and fifteen runs at every level, plus boarding, tubing, sleigh rides and heli-skiing, draw everyone from powder hounds to bunny slopers. And if you want to do it all, skiing and snowboard tickets also provide free access to Nordic and snowshoe trails, plus tubing and ice skating.

Mild temperatures, dry powder, lots of sunshine and a ski-in, ski-out Victorian-style mountain village just add to the fun.

And if cross-country skiing is your thing, Silver Star is a must. Ski Canada Magazine billed it as the “Best Nordic Ski Destination” in 2011. The nearby Sovereign Lakes ski area, with 96 km (60 mi) of scenic trails, is an experience you won’t want to miss. For the more adventurous, try heli-skiing in the Monashee Mountains.
